The AMD 690G chipset is undergoing a revision, specifically it's the BIOS that is being tweaked.  The onboard graphics will have proper support for HD quality video and significant improvements to the overclocking potential.  The Tech Report has some pictures of a new Gigabyte board, and a bit more details on what to expect from this chipset's second wave.

1333MHz FSB on the 680i

Subject: Motherboards | July 20, 2007 - 01:25 PM |

Trying to get a QX6850 to work, at full speed, on a 680i motherboard proved a challenge for many, including AnandTech.  Using an EVGA 680i board and the brand new P30 BIOS, as well as the new ASUS Blitz and P5K Deluxe, they tested the overclocking ability for the CPU and RAM.  One of the key points in the article is that this new BIOS makes it very easy to push a 1066 processor to 1333, but they have much more than that to report on.

Gigabyte's GA-N680SLI-DQ6 has everything you would expect from a 680i motherboard.  Support for 1333MHz FSB, SLI and solid capacitors, along with a bright colour scheme and copper heatpipes for the chipset.  The testing Hot Hardware put it through proves that this motherboard can compete with any of the other enthusiast class motherboard on the market, both in speed and features.

Low profile bling

Gigabyte has kept the tradition of P35 boards with the P35T-DQ6.  Featuring solid state capacitors cooled with enormous, but low profile copper heatsinks.  They have gone for a passive solution, allowing silence from you chipset cooling, and leaving you enough space for a titanic CPU cooler.  [H]ard|OCP found the supported DDR3 allowed them to reach a synchronous CPU FSB of 400MHz @ 1600MHz<
