Intel SSD 730 480GB Full Review - Overclocked Data Center SSD for the Enthusiast
HDTune tests a similar level of features as compared with HDTach, but with a different access pattern. Thus provides us with an additional set of benchmark numbers to compare between storage configurations. Here we can get the minimum, maximum and average transfer rates as well as the burst rates and access times. CPU utilization has proven negligible with modern processing horsepower, and is no longer included.
HDTune's burst test gives inconsistent results. Posted here for information only.
All modern SSDs have no issue saturating their SATA 6Gb/sec link. SSD 730 keeps with the pack here. No surprises.
While the SSD 730 had no issues with write speed, it did appear to not mesh well at all with HDTune's method of writing. The below was seen even with HDTune configured to write relatively large blocks of data (which normally smooths out the write speed closer to the max rating of an SSD):
I wouldn't necessarily count this as a negative, but worth noting nevertheless.
