SandForce controllers had some growing pains, specifically with the 2281 which this SX900 contains. Fortunately, ADATA has been vigilant in pushing newer base firmwares out via their web site. The most recent was v5.0.2a, released July of last year and well after SandForce hammered out the known issues. Anyone purchasing an SX900 should verify and update prior to placing their drive into use, just in case you've received new old stock. The SX900 firmware / download page is HERE.
The ADATA SX900 has been around for a while now, but its SandForce 2281 remains a very capable controller, and ADATA is offering it at an excellent price. Frugal shoppers should absolutely consider the SX900 when scoping out their next good deal.
