One year ago, I took a trip to Dallas for Quakecon 2002. It was the first LAN party event that I attended that required me to travel. While I had heard good things about the show, I had doubts, but with several nudges from other editors as well as some hardware vendors, I ventured out.

It was one of the most fun work trips that I have taken under the guise of Amdmb.com. The gaming was fun, the parties were fun, the presentations were fun and, most importantly, the atmosphere was fun. And that’s what made the trip and is exactly why I came back for this years show.
