MSI K8N Neo2 nForce3 Ultra Motherboard

Subject: Motherboards
Manufacturer: MSI

With the release of the 939-pin processors from AMD, NVIDIA released an updated version of their nForce3 chipset, called the nForce3 Ultra.  We took a preliminary look at a reference board on the first of June in our 939-pin motherboard preview, and we have been tinkering with a couple of retail boards since then.

The nForce3 series has seen slower acceptance than the K8T series of chipsets from VIA, both because of cost differences and feature gaps.  NVIDIA is quickly changing these key items though and now that VIA's overclocking ability with their PCI/AGP lock may be up in the air, NVIDIA is set to take back some of the AMD market share.
