MSI Turion 64 X2 Notebooks

MSI has taken a note from Asus and is also attempting to bring their own brand of notebooks into the US market.  Tackling the likes of Dell and HP is going to be a tough task no matter their success in Asia.  Does MSI have the product line up to compete?

This MSI L730 model was the first we saw to promote support for the new AMD Turion 64 X2 processors.  It has a 17" screen and will thus be rather heavy, and also uses the NVIDIA 6100 mobile chipset.

This the MSI M675 notebook, also sporting the AMD Turion 64 X2 processor but uses a discrete NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 GPU.  The 15.4" screen is what differentiates this from the previous model making it smaller and lighter to carry.

The third notebook from MSI to use the Turion X2, the MSI S271 goes one more step down to a 12.1" screen and a very light form factor.  It uses the Radeon Xpress 1150 chipset with integrated graphics  and weighs in under 4.2 lbs.

This final notebook is the MSI S262 that uses the Intel Core Duo processor and has the same form factor as the S271 above it.

These machines are very attractive and follow the ideology of the Apple brand with looks and functionality.  It uses the integrated Intel 945GM chipset and also weighs 4.2 lbs or so.
