Galaxy and Palit GeForce GT 240 Review - More 40nm from NVIDIA

Palit GeForce GT 240 1GB GDDR5

After looking at the Galaxy card, we got in another GT 240 option from Palit.

The Palit GeForce GT 240 uses a completely different cooler design than the Galaxy model but still requires two slots for installation into a chassis.  This card uses GDDR5 memory and it is the ONLY GT 240 card available that combines 1GB of frame buffer with GDDR5 memory - all other GDDR5 options on the market as of this writing are 512MB cards.

The Palit model also runs at slightly overclocked speeds as well compared to the Galaxy card seen on the previous page.  The core clock rate here is running at 585 MHz (compared to 550 MHz) while the shader clock rate is 1424 MHz (versus 1340 MHz) so that, along with the memory speed increase, should result in noticeable speed improvements.

Even using GDDR5 memory rather than GDDR3, the Palit GeForce GT 240 does not require external power.

While I don't think this shirt comes with ALL the Palit GDDR5 GT 240 graphics cards, I think it was funny that Palit was so exceptionally proud of the feature!
