NMediaPC 1080P HTPC Case Review

Author: Steve Grever
Manufacturer: General

A Detailed Look at the Outside

The 1080P is a pretty attractive, low profile case that supports both micro ATX and mini ITX motherboard form factors. The front panel is actually an acrylic sliding door that hides what users would typically see on the front panel of a computer like an optical drive, media card reader, and character display.

The power button glows blue and the reset button glows red. Both of these buttons don't distract from the case's appeal as a device that could easily blend in with any home theater system.

When we flip down the front panel we can see the opening for a 5.25" optical bay, media card reader, two USB 2.0 ports, audio/mic jacks, and a small window for an LCD display, which comes optional with the 1080P.

The left side panel has two vents for two 80mm fans. NMediaPC gets you started by providing one fan, but you'll have to add the other one on your own.

The back panel includes room for a full ATX power supply, standard I/O back panel, and four low-profile PCI slots. Not a bad setup for an HTPC case.

The right-side panel is almost identical to the left-side panel as it can accomodate two 80mm fans. Again, they provided one of these fans to give users good airflow over the motherboard and by the power supply and hard drives.

There are four sturdy rubber feet attached to the bottom of the case as well as extra ventilation under the hard drives, optical bays, and power supply.

Nice case looks like it will be perfect for any home theater PC.
