Kingwin Mach 1 ABT-1000MA1S Power Supply Review

Author: Lee Garbutt
Manufacturer: Kingwin

A Detailed Look

The steel enclosure of the Kingwin Mach 1 ABT-1000MA1S power supply features a black-chrome, electroplated finish and measures 180mm (7.1”) long.  The Mach 1 PSU uses a single 140mm fan on the bottom for cooling.  The fan speed is automatically controlled by the internal component temperature (speeds up as the combined load and temperature increases) via an onboard speed controller.  The 140mm fan (GlobeFan RL4BB1402512H) is rated for 0.4A when operating on 12 VDC.  Note the plastic shroud that helps divert airflow thru the PSU and out the back.

The backside panel includes a power receptacle, On-Off switch, and the PowerGuard LED.  The open grill structure allows air to exhaust out of the power supply with minimal restriction and turbulence.

The Kingwin Mach 1 1,000W PSU comes with an excellent assortment of fixed and modular cables, which are covered with plastic mesh sleeving.  The four 5-pin  sockets on the right power the peripheral cables while the four 4-pin sockets on the left are used for the PCI-E cables.

Fixed Cable:

•    (1) ATX 20/24-pin

•    (1) ATX12V 4-pin

•    (2) EPS12V 8-pin

Modular Cables:

•    (2) PCI Express 6-pin

•    (2) PCI Express 6+2-pin

•    (2) Peripheral Molex and FDD with 8 connectors

•    (2) Serial ATA with 8 connectors

i think its funny and cool that they use 4 pin C.B. mic plugs for the connectors as those have been tested for years in trucks and cars and have the most durability of any connector plus there cheap to replace and easy to do so if one gets damaged 5 stars for them using this ....also makes it easier to make an extension if needed
