Kingwin Lazer Platinum Series 550W Power Supply Review

Specifications and Packaging

The Kingwin LZP-550 power supply is rated for a combined, continuous output power of up to 550 watts at 40°C operating temperature (internal case air temperature) but Kingwin claims the LZP-550 can easily be overclocked* to 650W with only a small loss of efficiency.  The PSU includes universal AC line input (automatically adjusts to the AC line voltage) and active PFC, which makes the unit more environmentally friendly to the local power grid.  The LZP-550 PSU incorporates a single +12V output that can deliver up to 45.5A (546W).

*Note: Overclocked is a bit of a misnomer as you don't have to do anything to the PSU other than apply a larger load on the DC outputs (no jumpers or dip switches to set nor do you have to over-volt the AC mains).
