The Gigabyte AORUS P850W power supply enclosure has a black finish with gray and orange accents and measures 160mm (6.3”) deep. The back panel includes an AC receptacle, main power On-Off switch and open honey comb grill to help maximize airflow.

The power supply uses a Yate Loon Electronics fan (D14BH-12) that is rated for 0.70A at 12 VDC and uses dual ball bearings for long, reliable service.

The front panel on the AOrus P850W PSU incorporates ten modular cable connectors, all nicely labelled and keyed.

Here are a few pictures showing the layout and components inside the AORUS P850W power supply.  Gigabyte is using MEIC (Xiamen Metrotec Electronic Industry Co., Ltd. in China) as their partner and OEM for the AORUS Gold series. This is the first power supply we have seen from this manufacturer.

The power supply uses an LLC resonant topology to lower power losses and boost efficiency during switching along with two DC-to-DC converters on daughter cards to generate the +3.3V and +5V outputs from the +12V supply.

The layout of components is clean and the soldering appears very good. All of the electrolytic capacitors used inside the PSU are Japanese made and rated for 105°C. For example, the two primary bulk capacitors are made by Nippon Chem-con KMR Series and rated for 390uF, 400V and 105°C.

Are the cables going to remain flat ribbon or will they be sleeved for production units?

I actually prefer flat ribbons.

Yes, as far as we know the cables will remain the flat ribbon style (just sleeving the caps at the ends).
