As has become a staple, the VIA Technology Forum is going on during the week of Computex at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Taipei. Wednesday it started off with a keynote from the President of the VIA Technologies, Wenchi Chen, which focused on the continued miniaturization PC circuitry. (Large quote below.)

Designtechnica took a look around CEIDA2005, and tells you you all about the highlights, like LG's 55-inch 1080p high-definition LCD tunerless monitor.
"C.E.D.I.A. opened a few weeks in Indianapolis, IN, and fostered several themes. The most important themes were: iPod connectivity, HDMI connectivity, and displays (TVs) with resolutions of 1080p. If there ever could be two technologies that are at the opposite ends of the spectrum, it's the iPod and 1080p displays.

I just finished posting my Computex 2005 coverage from the driver's seat of a car headed towards Columbus, Ohio. Man, you have to love wireless data services. ;) In any event, you should give the article a read over and you might some interesting things being shown. My personal favorite is the Gigabyte iRAM which uses standard DDR memory to make a solid state storage device that is much faster than other storage options. There are some drawback of course, but we'll learn more about it very soon.

I've had the pleasure of meeting Chris Morris a couple of times and I can tell that even though he works for the mainstream media, he knows his stuff. In this weeks edition of "Game Over" he discusses the implications of this year's E3 show.
The new consoles will get the lion's share of the spotlight, for obvious reasons. But software publishers have a few surprises up their sleeves that may shift the focus back to games by the time the show wraps up.
