iBUYPOWER versus [H]ard|OCP

Subject: Systems | June 27, 2006 - 01:58 PM |

The next retailer on [H]'s list is iBUYPOWER.  Opting to buy the same system they purchased from Cyberpower, this reivew focuses on the experiences they had with the original purchase and shipping of the system, as well as the Tech Support they used after the box had arrived.  Find out if they met [H]'s expectations or not.

"iBUYPOWER targets their systems squarely at the gaming market, as evidenced by even a casual glance

at the company's website. However, the company also hints at a desire to provide products world-wide

to corporate and educational clients. That's a nice ambition, but first let's take a look at how well

they take care of their gaming customers.

iBUYPOWER builds laptop and desktop systems using either AMD or Intel chips. Their site lists

configurations for gaming, media center, and small-form-factor machines, along with weekly specials

and 'ships within 24 hours,' pre-configured/pre-built models.

All machines will be or have been 'fully configured, tested and pass a 72-hour burn-in control,' and

come with a 3-year limited warranty (1-year, parts) and lifetime toll-free technical support."
