City of Industry, Calif., April 15, 2009 – GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD., a leading manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards is pleased to announce today its North America Regional Finalists for the GIGABYTE Open Overclocking Championship 2009 (GO OC 2009), the largest and the most prestigious overclocking competition in enthusiast communities across 26 countries. The North America Regional Finals will be held at Pacific Palm Golf Resort in City of Industry on April 25 and April 26, 2009, with the main competition on the first day and more world records set on the second day of freestyle overclocking. The Champion will represent the North America team and receive an all-expense paid round trip to Taipei, Taiwan in June to compete for the title of world championship. The world wide Champion will receive $5,000 and grand prizes sponsored by GIGABYTE, Intel, Nvidia, Kingston and Enermax at the global final held at Taipei 101 Skyscraper on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009, during COMPUTEX 2009, with hundreds of participating spectators, power users, press, industry analysts, and channel partners from around the globe to observe the series of world records being broken on GIGABYTE Intel X58 based GA-EX58-UD4P with Intel Core i7 CPU.
