The Tech Report examines the new P67 Express chipset which sports 6Gbps Serial ATA ports and full-speed PCI Express 2.0 lanes.  This makes it very competitive against AMD’s boards which have sported both those features for a while now.  Their testing showed better transfer performance over the SATA channel than AMD’s 890GX chipset and a significant jump from the P55 chipset, when connected to a PCIe RAID card.  Also of note was the CPU utilization, which was much higher on the AMD platform.

“Finally, Intel has a mid-range chipset with proper PCIe 2.0 lanes. We test the P67’s PCIe implementation to see how it stacks up against the competition.”
