MSI held a press conference on Tuesday night that showcased new Sandy Bridge notebooks as well as the company’s motherboards based on the P67 and H67 chipsets.  The stars of the party though were the new P67-based Big Bang Marshal motherboard with no less than eight (8!!) x16 PCIe slots!  They didn’t want to tell us what chips were at work to create all of these lanes of traffic – can’t help but wonder if this is NVIDIA nForce 200 magic or something new and potentially more interesting.

The other stand out item is the upcoming MSI GTX 580 Lightning graphics card with 16 phase PWM and lots of overclocking headroom.
