It seems Fujitsu has solved one of life’s biggest computing annoyances – the pervasive problem that you need to use a mouse or keyboard to interact with a computer. The new Lifebook AH series features a special camera that is designed to track your hand movements. In the preview posted at Akihabara News, a middle-aged man is seen making awkward (and perhaps even suggestive) circular motions in the air which allowed him to control the Windows Media Player.

Fujitsu's New Lifebook AH Series has Hands-Free "Natal Like" Interface - Mobile 2

While it’s easy to dismiss this as a gimmick, for people with limited motor skills this can be a great way to interact with a computer. Typically accessible interfaces are extremely expensive, so the idea of a consumer product having a built-in keyboard/mouse-less interface opens up a world of opportunity for those individuals.

I hope when this product does finally reach the market, it will do more than just control Windows Media Player, but also allow you to move objects around the screen or use gestures to execute actions… a person can dream, can’t he?

The Lifebook AH is a 15.6″ notebook with 4GB of RAM, and 500GB HDD. CPUs come in choices of Intel Core i5-450M, i3-350M, and AMD Athlon II M340.
