Dell's Venue 8 7000 tablet sports an 8.4" 2560×1600 OLED display and is powered by the Moorefield based Atom Z3580 SOC, 2GB LPDDR3-1600 with 16GB internal of internal storage with up to a 512GB Micro SD card supported. Even more impressive is that The Tech Report had no issues installing apps or moving files to the SD card with ES File Explorer, unlike many Android devices that need certain programs to reside on the internal storage media. Like Ryan, they had a lot of fun with the RealSense Camera and are looking forward to the upgrade to Lollipop support. Check out The Tech Report's opinion of this impressive Android tablet right here.
"Dell's Venue 8 7000 is the thinnest tablet around, and that's not even the most exciting thing about it. This premium Android slate packs a Moorefield-based Atom processor with quad x86 cores, a RealSense camera that embeds 3D depth data into still images, and a staggeringly beautiful OLED display that steals the show. Read on for our take on a truly compelling tablet."

$400 for a 16GB tablet? On
$400 for a 16GB tablet? On what planet is that a good deal?
It has an A-TOM CPU, and the
It has an A-TOM CPU, and the PowerVR G6430 is pretty long in the tooth, compared to more up to date offerings, This reeks of contra revenue savings, not passed on to the customer. $400.00 is too much, but they are going to be pawning these A-TOM SKUs off for quite a while, there is a mothballed FAB building full of these A-TOMs, and as well as U series SKUs, to make our laptops weak and overpriced, the retail channels are so clogged with this, and failed Ultrabook initiative crap. Let’s push these A-TOMs with a little scratch, for the poor cut, and paste ad copy “reviews”.
Really the Tech report, pfffff.
why on earth are you
why on earth are you hyphenating Atom?
Why on earth is Intel trying
Why on earth is Intel trying to rebrand the A-TOM line, so every slack jawed A-Tom, A-Dick, Or A-Harry can fall for that gimped down overpriced SOC that Intel continues to push. Get you x3, x5, and x7 SKUs, and be sure to confuse the branding with the i line of costly kit, would not want too much thought process involved in making the bait and switch, and sell the slack jaws a load of goods. You will never get any high end graphics, or Intel’s version of “high end graphics” on those x parts.
Yeah, its as annoying as
Yeah, its as annoying as people who use M$ instead of MS. I guess Apple should be lucky there is no letter S in their name.
As soon as M$’s OS market
As soon as M$’s OS market share goes below 50% in the PC/Laptop market I’ll stop using the “$” no sooner no later!
It’s as annoying as people who develop love affairs with monopolies, and the elected officials, and Justice Department, who do not even enforce the antitrust laws on the books. Hell when they broke up the Standard Oil TRUST, its share holders became richer, the shareholders each received a percentage of each new company, and the broken up parts each became more valuable, competition is good!
M$ should have been broken up decades ago, too bad IBM did not go with CP/M as an OS solution.
Is it set up to allow
Is it set up to allow installing / moving apps to the SD card? That would make a world of difference.
Still inclined to hold off until they can offer 32GB and Lollipop.
Impress whom?
Impress whom?
Make it 64GB, 4GB RAM,
Make it 64GB, 4GB RAM, Bingdows 8.1 64-bit and try again.
That’s what I’ve been asking
That’s what I’ve been asking for since the moment I first heard about this tablet last year.
