CES 2010: ASUS U53 U-Series Bamboo Notebook - Mobile 4

ASUS gave the press an exclusive look at their U53 U-Series Bamboo Notebook today before the official start of this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih said the company has been developing environmentally-friendly products since 2008, and the Bamboo notebook falls right in line with this statement.

The shell of the Bamboo notebook is basically bamboo injected in plastic. The exterior finish looks a shiny bamboo press wood, but does look good with the silver lining that surrounds all the edges of the notebook. The only technical specs ASUS released during the press conference on the Bamboo was that it will include support for USB 3.0 and also an Intel i5 processor. It will also be optimized to save battery life like many notebooks we will see at CES this week.
