It is not just any GTX470’s that [H]ard|OCP is testing in SLI, but the recently released Galaxy GeForce GTX 470 GC, with higher default clock speeds than the reference model.  The testing went well and while it is nice to see the high fps scores the big question is how it scales as you are paying twice as much as you would for the single card.  The direct comparison is a little hard to establish as in most cases the addition of a second card prompted a jump in resolution from 1920×1200 to 2560×1600 and turning additional graphics features on so frame rates did not double but they did tend sharply up.  Check it out!

“Galaxy’s new GeForce GTX 470 GC video card offers a unique solution to a common problem for hardware enthusiasts. There are new features such as higher clock speeds, a custom PCB design, and something called a detachable flip fan you will want to see. We compare single and SLI gameplay performance against AMD.”
