What a lovely looking card.

I've always liked ASUS for my components whenever I can and this stunning card will go so well with the new rig I'm building for Oculus Rift games.

What I like most about it is the angles of the case and how they're highlighted with the gold trim.

Every build I build has as much ASUS hardware in it as possible. Honestly the best PC HW manufacturer at the moment, not even hyperbole.

Also, Memory Defroster. YES.

Hoping to start a new quiet build, so this would be amazing to have in it...

I love the build quality of ASUS graphics cards and how quiet they are. I have yet to get an ASUS card with coil whine. Ive had it on my xfx, gigabyte and gainward cards in the past.

I really love ASUS products, I have never ever being dissapointed of one and I had an ASUS graphics card of some of the older gens that really kicked my path through GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas, what a wonderful piece of silicon. And now I have an ASUS motherboard. And I really love the card in the give-away, there's nothing as powerful as that fan cooler and is so silent and so beautiful to showcase inside of my side-windowed case. Truly exceptional

I have build all my computers using Asus motherboards and desktops using ASUS GPUs I have build over 150 personal computers (98% Intel Based) now (Privately and Professionally)

5 years ago I upgraded my pc's every year with the newest parts last build was the Z97 Deluxe NFC & WLC board which I fitted with the R9 290 DCII OC but its red / black this new Gold edition will fit a lot better and If I can't win it I probably buy it. if I can find it in my country for an affordable price next month.

so I can stop upgrading for some time as I do have the hardware then to play all games that I own in 1080P in ultra settngs.

May 5, 2015 | 12:23 AM - Posted by Admiral_Akbar

This would go perfectly with my upcoming x99 build.

I'd already made the decision to go with Asus motherboard after seeing how well well the bios was built, as well as the overclocking abilities. This would be the icing on the cake.

Well done to who ever wins!

Asus is always my first choice when choosing PC Components. Almost all my Motherboards and many of the GPUs as far back as the Riva TNT2 Ultra have been Asus components.

I really love my Rampage IV Formula and Asus GTX 680 DC2. The Asus GTX 980 would be a awesome addition to the family and looks amazing too.

Nice work ASUS, the GTX980 supercharged, quiet and perfected.

I love the quality and effort put into this graphics card. Not only does it look like it has a sturdy physical build but it also has a strong visual build. This is definitely a want for someone with a blacked out computer that would be okay with a gold accent to brighten things up. What can I say, the things sweet!

May 5, 2015 | 01:12 AM - Posted by Anonymous (not verified)

May 5, 2015 | 01:13 AM - Posted by Jex (not verified)

May 5, 2015 | 01:18 AM - Posted by Kas Nagant (not verified)

Ever since my first build years ago which had an Asus Geforce 4 Ti, I have been impressed with their reliability over time. I like the DirectCU II feature that Asus has implemented in their more recent GPUs to keep the video card silent when not under heavy load or at low noise when the fans have to spin.

May 5, 2015 | 01:21 AM - Posted by DatGuy (not verified)

Certainly has a gorgeous Deus-Ex aesthetic that'd go great with an ASUS MoBo ;)

But the best part by far is the heat distribution system which allows it to run without a fan for as long at it does!

Asus always have the best graphics card features in my opinion, plus they are very reliable in terms of customer support and care about helping you no matter where you are from, unlike some companies which just focus on north america. both my laptop and my tablet are asus and if I ever build a PC asus will be in it.

If they started in 1996, won't the 20th anniversary be next year?

I generally think good things about ASUS products in general, but I'm not going to enter because this card will be mostly wasted on me.

What i Like about ASUS is everything they make is more reliable.

The colour scheme would be perfect for a Deus Ex themed build! Might have to give that a go if I win it. Plus 15% cooler and 3 times quieter than a reference card, what's not to love?

It's black and gold. I want this. What else is there to say?

Well, I love them simply because they are the best. I mean, I've seen a lot of GPUs fail, but a very little fraction of htem have been by Acer, and those problems were caused by the user anyway!

Well Asus graphics cards are the best because I can use the hard to pronounce name to confuse my girlfriend with so she has no idea what I'm buying. They are also consistently the best innovators and most reliable cards, but thats just a couple of nice extras...

Thank you Asus!
I used Asus products before and even now 10 years after i purchased a mobo and an gpu, they still work perfectly, no problems at all. also this 980 looks absolutely stunning, i love the color scheme, the cooling and specs, a must have!

That card looks pretty sweet and has a much needed feature because my memory is always freezing.

Been using Asus cards for over 1r years, always liked the looks, performance and innovating features.

Asus have always seem to put out good quality cards, in looks and performance. And I certainly wouldn't mind having a 980. :)

Well, I've had an ASUS laptop since 2012 and it's worked great ever since I bought it, but it doesn't have the fastest gpu since it is just a laptop. So, I've already started making a desktop and only need a gpu and figured this would be perfect to make a monster computer.

Physical gold is a solid and safe investment in any portfolio. An Asus graphics card with gold = an event better investment.

ASUS graphics cards means quality. When I install a new card on my PC I want to be the brand trustworthy. This is what I get with ASUS.

Also, they have nice designs on their products.

Black and gold color scheme would go great with my latest Asus motherboard build. Asus is my "go to" manufacturer for PC components.

I have always had really good experiences of ASUS products and their reliability and I also think the 0db fan idea is really innovative and cool.

I have a Asus GTX 970, and it runs quietly. The gold colour scheme on this looks even better!

For past experiences i found that ASUS product is the most reliable in term of quality and longevity i know because i am a pc builder for nearly 20 years. and also i love the zero fan mode that ASUS used in GTX 900 SERIES

man that is one sexy looking gpu. gotta love asus GPUs for bring the 0db fan feature to market (with the Strix series). No kidding, I can't stress enough how annoying when the fan ramps up so high and distracts me when I'm doing something that's not THAT gpu intensive.

I like ASUS as a manufacturer of reliable and performing hardware. I have a lot of ASUS networking hardware and I'd love to add ASUS Nvidia graphics hardware to my first PC build (with triple boot!). :)

About asus I like the attention to detail and their reliability. Also GPU backplates!.

May 5, 2015 | 07:15 AM - Posted by Anonymous (not verified)

Asus has the perfect trifecta for GPUs; fast, reliable, and quiet. It's amazing how much performance that Asus has been able to squeeze out of their pcb and cooler designs while keeping the noise footprint so low.

ASUS graphics cards always represent to me the best combination of form and function - they usually depart from reference designs, but only where doing so adds to their capability, not simply to look cooler. They also never sacrifice performance or stability, so buying an ASUS gpu for me is a guarantee that my experience will meet or exceed what the graphics chip maker wanted for me.

Asus Cards allways just worked for me and thats a big plus. Nothing better than hw just working :) And man this golden Card looks fantastic!

I had an early ASUS RivaTNT, later an Ati 9600xt, it's about time I won a gtx980!

May 5, 2015 | 07:29 AM - Posted by KasiorMC (not verified)

Both ASUS graphics cards I had went a bit beyond what competitors did.

I love the overkill specs of this graphics card. A shame nvidia doesn't allow for such versions of the Titan x.
