Like using Skype? Microsoft is going to fix that for you

Once again Microsoft is planning to forcibly move you to the new Skype without giving you an option other than going to the competition.  For those on Windows 10, this will mean the UWP version which is pretty much incapable of calling anything other than other Windows 10 machines, and not well even then.  For those with business machines that block the Microsoft store and who haven't downgraded to Skype For Business, this means you had better start shopping around for other solutions.

As The Inquirer has seen themselves, if you are using Skype Classic you will now be offered the choice to either upgrade or exit the application.

"Users have been railing against the move since it was first announced, as Skype 8 has been beset by problems, many linked to the fact that it will see Windows 10 users forced to use a UWP (Microsoft Store) version of the app, which has historically not worked very well - a point we've made many times."

Ah chipman the Floyd R Turbo of these forum posts and now we have conclusive proof!

Yes chipman, tell that to all the folks that have their identies stolen from some US companies' poorly guarded data bases. Yes privacy has nothing to do with the US Constution does it, Floyd R Turbo!

Yes let's call everyone in the US that values their privacy a SJW just like King George would have done back in the day to the folks wanting their independence. Folks the greatest threat to freedom in the world is folks like chipman who are so reactionary and subject to becoming so Triggered!

Chipman loves Ajit Pai and all of the abusive monopoly trusts. Chipman is a faithful follower of Brother John Birch and he thinks that any form of Privacy is not a right! And he, if given a copy of the bill of rights, will throw in on the ground and stomp on it and say that it's communist propaganda.

There is a worldwide chipman problem of the uneducated fools that usually become anti human rights in their thinking.

Really chipman you become so easily Triggered and most of your forum content proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are a most egregious fool!

I imagine they want everyone who is a business using Teams. Not consumer Skype or Skype for Business which is going away.

I do not have any problems with skype. I am using both versions regularly. I use skype UWP for teleconferences and calls to friends (and once internationally) with no problem. At work we use skype for business for almost everything and it works.
I do not understand why so many people hate this product.
