I was looking through our Pricegrabber engine today and noticed that some of the prices for Socket 939 processors were going below the AMD 1KU pricing already. The Athlon 64 3800+ Retail is for sale for around $710, while the Athlon 64 3800+ OEM is for sale for $696 or so in some places. The other 939-pin processor, the Athlon 64 3500+ Retail, is selling for under $500 now. Finally, for those of you with Socket 754 motherboards looking to upgrade, you can check out the Athlon 64 3700+ Retail selling for $701 and above.
Also very good news, is that new video card prices are coming down as well! You can now grab an ATI Radeon X800 Pro graphics card for under $400, and now there is even the Abit-branded X800 XT card available for $499!!
Finally, I think everyone will want to know that the prices on the 10K RPM Raptor hard drives from Western Digital are coming down in prices as well. You can now get the WD Raptor 36 GB version for just over $110, or get the WD Raptor 74 GB version for just under $200. These are arguably the best hard drives on the market today for consumers.
