Finally somepne reviewing the
Finally somepne reviewing the Epyc/SP3 Gigabyte MZ31-AR0 MB! And Now we can see what a real server/workstation grade MB actually is. And that includes supprt for ECC memeory(certified/vetted and warrantied to support ECC Mamory).
That’s 128 PCIe lanes and 8 memory channels provided and that MB’s-cost/#-Of-PCIe lanes and MB’s-cost/#-Of-Memory-Channels come in at the same Price/Feature(PCIe lane, Mem-Channel) as any Threadripper MB costing half as much. And then there is that Dual 10Gb/s LAN among other features not found on any consumer TR/Ryzen MBs.

PCPer Please look into this
PCPer Please look into this story(1) and see what comes up I’m maybe looking at a Hades Canyon NUC to do Blender Rendering as well as gamng but I will not consider the HC NUC unless the “Vega” Graphics Supports Vega’s HBCC/HBC IP and can make use of the HBM2 as a last level GPU Cache Memory.
I’d really like to Know about the Semi-Custom “Vega” Graphics on Intel’s G series Processors with that “Vega” Semi-Custom Die but I need the HBCC/HBC(HBM2) IP to be working for any Blender Rendering where my Mesh Models/Textures and Scenes can be much larger than the 4GB.
My Bender Projects’ VRAM Needs can be many times the size of 4GB that that HC NUC SKU’s HBM2/VRAM could provide on it’s own without the aid of Vega’s HBCC/HBC that treats the HBM2 as a last level GPU Cache and can just page to Virtual VRAM(From HBM2/Cache to and from regular system DRAM/SSD) using Vega’s HBCC to manage the that process.
Intel, and AMD, have not been very clear about that Intel G series support for Semi-Custom Vega’s HBCC/HBC(Uses HBM2 lake a last level cache for the GPU) technology on Intel’s EMIB/MCM baed G series SKU’s that make use of the “Vega” Semi-custom GPU die on the MCM along with Intel CPUs.

Strange that there is an AMD
Strange that there is an AMD CrossFire logo on an Nvidia AORUS branded motherboard. I was wondering whether Nvidia was going to allow Ryzen boards or only Intel boards to be sold under their AORUS and ROG brands that they recently took control of.
Nvidia does not make
Nvidia does not make Motherboards so Nvidia’s influnce there amounts to Goose Eggs. If Nvidia keeps it up and Nvidia angers the Makers of the Motherboard Chip Sets(AMD and Intel) then AMD and Intel could very well make Nvidia’s New Branded GPUs not be so white listed to work on those makers respective Motherboard SKUs. That’s what they should do to Nvidia and force that Branding nonsense right back in Nvidia’s Face.
Just Let Nvidia bring that up to the Trade/Antitrust authorities and AMD could counter claim against Nvidia for that Anticompetative Branding land grab. The lawyers can not wait to get their hands on that action.
Windows 10 vs various TuxBird
Windows 10 vs various TuxBird Distros and that’s not so good for the Lords of bloatware and telemetry of Redmond. Candy Cursh this ye Lords of Redmond(1)! The Red Teams a Ryzen and that’s some Bloatware and Telemetry you got there on Ye Redmond Lords’ OS that’s stealing CPU cycles like a drunk would for some drinks from an unguarded booze emporium. Drink Up!

Hey Scott, where have you
Hey Scott, where have you gone, are you lost up there in a snow drift?
Anyways here is a Radeon ProRender update for the Macbook folks and even folks with those now whitelisted by Apple external TB3 Graphics Boxes and AMD’s GPU on MacOS for Blender 3D and Maya rendering/other graphics uses.
“In addition, macOS High Sierra 10.13.4’s new support for external graphics processors (eGPUs) allows macOS Blender and Maya Radeon ProRender users to harness the rendering power of both select Radeon™ RX and Radeon™ Pro WX graphics cards like the Radeon™ RX 580, Radeon™ RX Vega64, and the Radeon™ Pro WX 9100 GPUs on their Macs when used with a compatible eGPU Thunderbolt™ 3 chassis.” (1)
Macbook Users now can Render like the Workstation Folks can with those External TB3 boxes and AMD’s GPUs.
