having just converted my laptop into a steam machine for testing purposes i find myself compelled to grab a shield and check it out ... but im also looking at upgrading from my dual gtx 680s but at this point playing on 1080p i dont really see anything taxing enough to demand upgrade...id imagine that trying to do 4k or even 25x14 would be taxing enough to justify a gpu upgrade. so many beautiful products out there but damn the price of upgrading it all at once!

I'm pretty sure that you can turn off ALL alerts for GFE and have it automatically do everything for you. There are a ton of checkboxes in the settings for this type of thing.

Valve needs to roll out a competitor for GFE/Raptr so Steam automatically does all these things. I'm guessing that Steam has so much more data to draw from for game settings/hardware configurations.

Would love it if Valve did something similar, just for the mere fact that i don't need to have more applications open, with their own damn overlays.
