This was one of the more interesting GPU Technology Conferences, as the the GPU is not just about gaming anymore. Fans of distributed computing projects like Folding@Home are now familiar with the idea of using a GPU client and have been very pleased with the results. With the introduction of Fermi we saw nVIDIA GPUs that came on cards without a single graphical output port on them as they were specifically intended for scientific applications. This year nVIDIA has continued to focus on the utility of their architecture for non-graphics usage as is evidenced by their emphasis on performance per watt, not just pure performance per second.
