Subwoofers can be easy to buy if you have an indiscriminate ear, as long as the wattage is high enough to shatter windows you will be happy.  For those looking for a specific LFE crossover and a good range are a little more hard to satisfy.  MektuMods has a suggestion; why not make your own subwoofer?  Their particular choices may not be available in your area, or might not have exactly the stats that you are looking for, but for the most part the physical construction will remain similar for any subwoofer you want to build … unless you plan on going crazy.
