“With the PC market reaching a mature stage, Intel is giving more attention to new market segments to help drive growth. One area the chip giant and its partners see as having strong market potential is the embedded market, which is a US$15 billion opportunity according to IDC predictions, and its annual growth is running at above 25%. Intel is making a concerted effort to develop this market and has engaged with over 3,800 Intel Atom processor developer customers to get new designs in this area. Digitimes recently sat down with Michael Chen, Managing director, Embedded Sales Group & Ultra Mobility Group, Intel Microelectronics Asia to discuss Intel’s vision for the embedded market and the role it and its Taiwan partners play in the market ecosystem.”
