All processors are the same.
Come on guys, you can do better than this.
In our defense this was originally filmed for our 2013 staff retreat to the Galapagos Islands. Come to think of it, I actually can't remember any of that trip...
Obviously this is a joke but, some poor fool is probably going to buy this crap due to the lack of context lol...
I don't think putting 3 CPUs in a computer is even legal.
Do better? Please, you can't find this kind of pioneering expose' on The Google or The Facebook. Keep up the good work.
Good God, you can hear the pins bend.
I've found that I get the best performance when the all the pins have an airtight connection. After burn-in I can't even get the CPU out anymore... Oh well, small price to pay for the gains I'm experiencing.
Good on ya'! That socket needed a good burn-in; I saw the trouble you had with the ZIF, plus it's faulty processor clamp.
ohhh man that is gold!!y next build is going to be epic!!!
Of course they can, and they do... ALL THE TIME.
But it's almost "Black Friday" with Winter Holiday Shopping coming up soon. So there's going to be a huge spike in traffic of people trying to figure this stuff out who *don't* watch multiple podcasts or follow every post these guys put up.
It's the dark art of trying to attract new people to the site vs boring the regulars...
I'm sure there will be plenty of reviews about welders, er 1200W PSUs & R9 290X competitors too!
Arc welding. Totally doable.
Put your money where you mouth is malventano we await your pc wielding video.
Hmm, if I connected a 1200W power supply to Sebastian's new rig, I bet *something* would arc weld.
I might have you try anyway. For some reason I'm still having trouble getting it to boot. Probably the PSU...
Why are we talking about 1200W sup's when I'm runnin' dub 2000's wit pin mods on the black & green 24p!!!!!!! Black & Green .... Black & Green.... Black & Green.....
Ken is somewhere saying, "Now you know what I have to deal with on every podcast"
You are 100% correct.
nice, but can it run modded Minecraft? #Kappa
if you turned the intel chip around, would it be possible to fit at least one stick of ram(if not two sticks at the same time) into the other "chip" slot?
Good thinking, but unfortunately the intel chip is keyed so it only goes in one way. He could plug it into the internal port instead however, and then have room in the outer slot for a stick of ram. Or perhaps like you posited, maybe even two, if he's careful.
or better yet, push a stick of ram into same slot with each gpu so that that ram will be shared between cpu and gpu
That's an amazing idea! At first, I admit I wasn't concerned about memory because I planned on using a 74GB hard drive - way more memory that I'd ever need! But now I'm convinced that choice is the only reason this system isn't working yet. I'll try the memory stacked in the first additional processor slot immediately.
THAT is genius! Sebas, do you have a license to drive this Hot Rod?!? I know you will get it going...
Awaiting the performance numbers.
You should also water cool it for MAX performance!
Pfft. He's planning to ice cool it.
No, not dry ice...
".... additional processors." lmao
WOOHOOO!! I knew PCPER had a REAL EXPERT IN THE HOUSE!!
more i want more!!!!
if i had this type of advice in the beginning i would be safe from the constant PC Upgrade cycle (and about a million bucks richer)
Hello there, You've done an excellent job. I'll definitely digg it and personally suggest to my friends.
I am confident they will be benefited from this web site.
Also visit my page panele solarne (www.kspnk.pl)
Amazon offers me to buy those components used.
Is that better? It seems like it should be better because of all the electricity the previous user has already put into it.
Used is better. Means people trust it enough to buy it unlike those NEW items.
Come on, guys, this is not what I expect from PCPer.
I was looking forward to a comparative benchmark that pits all the best CPUs from bottom to top price and compares their performance with flagship GPUs: G3258, 8320, 8350, 4670K, 4690K, 4770K, 4790K, 5820K, 5930K, 5960X. So we can see the relative performance with 1/2/3/4 flagship GPUs (290X / 980).
THAT would have been an awesome article/video. And I'm still expecting you guys do an article like this.
I just want to point out the optimal CMOS battery placement on that motherboard.
Truly a sign of quality.
that was so awesome
Thank you sir may we have another.
DO YOU KNOW HOW EXCITED I WAS TOO SEE THIS THING PLUGGED IN.....4 minuts, psh!!!!!.....we want flames on the podcast tonight! FLAMES i tell u ...sparks at least.
I won't pretend the initial boot went to plan, but the small electrical fire was really easy to extinguish. Took out my camera, though...
You have to break a few eggs to make an omelet.
And all eggs are the same, so you might as well buy them used on Amazon.
Really? They have the old CPU on sale at Amazon from Intel for $20 each?
I had a 10 or so of them. I decided to give them away to some local hobbyist for free (few months ago) instead of dropping them off at some recycling pickup depot (if they do actually recycle them instead of dropping them in our landfills, who knows).
I could have made at least $40 :P The guy was happy because I had more old equipment (some were too expensive to buy replacement parts) than just those CPU.
You fool! You could have had a 10 CPU system, just use jumper cables to link several boards together if you don't have enough extra slots to stick them in!
