Corsair had quite a few announcements this CES 2013, but none were as big as this one.  The rumors had been swirling about a massive case in the bowels of the Corsair headquarters, and today we get to see the reality of the situation.

It truly is a monster.

The Obsidian 900D is so large a previous gen 650D can fit inside it.  It supports up to two power supplies, 15 fan mounts, 15 potential drives (when buying an optional, extra cage), four removable dust filters, and five watercooling point mounts.

Have I mentioned this is a big case?

It is built entirely out of a steel and cast aluminum frame, which is good considering how big this case is.  Hopefully there will be enough lateral stiffness so the case does not warp or bend once it is fully loaded.

Availabilty and price are still a bit up in the air, but expect it the first half of this year.  Expect it to be pricey.  Overkill at any price?  Sign me up.

I like it except for the windowed side panel. Hopefully Corsair will offer an optional side-panel without a window.

Its not a window, its a decal, because im sure this thing is going to be pricey and most people will be able to afford the case, and maybe an atom based motherboard. so you stick a badass 'window' sticker on the side and fool everyone.

kidding of course, but thats a good idea now that i think about bling. it will be the computer equivelant of all that crappy car junk at walmart to make your car look like you threw 3k worth of chrome and spinners at it, while only spending around 35 bux.

no one steal this ideal, kthx

We can not WAIT to get these in and start using them to build our LX-E Ultra High-End Rigs. Oh hells yeah. Thanks so much for the awesome coverage!

That lower 3rd for the intake/hdd/ps is what makes me want to get this, looks like the 600t is gonna get retired.

I'm getting tired of all the corsair love to be had around here. Frankly, I don't care much for corsair. I'd like to see more on the site about other case, mice, power supply, and keyboard vendors. Corsair products seem to function okay, but they just don't back up their products when they do fail.

considering youre into corsair mice, keyboards, headsets

something tells me you're not really into high end performance parts

In trying to perfect the inside for a space efficient layout, and gain a nice large side window Corsair does what so many companies do now days and left the front to one super ugly mess...

It is a really bad design when you smack about 15 fan mounts and show a picture with 4 of them used for a hdd and psu cage.

All that space and they still can't best the Antec 1200 with its 2x120 rear rad mount area. By far one of the best features of cases at that size.

I'm guessing it will rely on wc loops again and still have poor airflow like the 800d. I mean, why else would you need that many fans.

its quite sad how you obviously have a pea for a brain when it comes to WC.
yet you still speak as if you'd know much

I might buy it if it's possible to get it without the window, but if they made a "Gracken" branded one I'd get it no matter what.

It says that it supports 15 fans and up to 15 potential drives, what I want to know is there a motherboard available that would let you take advantage of all that?
