If you and your Intel chips are feeling insecure, why not show them some love this Friday night and flash them with new updates? There are new updates including one to mitigate Spoiler, and one for the Broadwell U i5 vPro found in the Intel NUC. There are also software update, which resolves permission escalation vulnerabilities in the Graphics Performance Analyzer for Linux and the Intel Media SDK.
As when flashing your motherboard or GPU, do be careful to read and follow all the steps, unless you have a love of bricking expensive equipment. Drop by The Register for links to all four updates.

What’s tbe use they will just
What’s tbe use they will just find more vulnerabilities. My guess is that Jim Keller/Teams will be very busy for the next 3 years reworking all the innards of Intel’s x86 to fully get rid of all these and other similar issues.
All the work that Intel is doing currently and in the short term is just a bandaid until the x86 reworking is finished, hopefully within the next 3 years.
AMD will not be standing still but at least AMD has a lot less to fix going forward.

The PC, even laptops, market has been past peak market for a good many years and now Phones/Tablets have also reached the same post peak market status. With Phones insanely overpriced I’d like to think that Laptops will become the best value if the Laptop OEM’s would stop trying to underpower Laptops and turn them into glorified Tablets. But it appears that consumers have had their fill of that upgrade treadmill and the steep pricing increases on all manner of devices during the past few years.
