A new week brings a new Win10 bug from Microsoft to start you on your way. This one is far less serious than previous ones, merely removing your ability to use the seek bar on Windows Media Player. While this will not prevent you from getting work done, it is yet another blow to the confidence of anyone who has managed to retain even a slight belief in the success of Windows as a Service. The Inquirer offers information on this bug as well as one that will interfere with your iTunes as well.
Roll-up your patches to win, eh?
"This time, its an issue with media playback, and specifically the "seek bar", which we're given to understand is the bit that lets you find the specific bit of a song. This only applies to the default player. That iTunes borkage? Separate bug."

There’s a few reasons I
There’s a few reasons I switched to Linux 2 years ago. Issues like this was definitely one of them.
At least they install. The
At least they install. The monthly security patches for Windows 7 have failed since August.
I do the Windows 7 security
I do the Windows 7 security only quaity updates downloaded from the windows update catalog but I wait until any Patch install errors are reported at Askwoody. Askwoody’s DEFCON system is a good resource but anyone installing any Windows updates/security patches on the first day of release is taking their chances.
Windows 10 users are really M$’s BETA testers and will continue to be going forward. All this talk about regulating Google, Apple’s App Store, and the other big technology intersts is pretty damn hollow when M$ and its OSs need to be declared a public utility and thoroughly regulated to stop all this OS madness.
M$ is stealing its OS users time and money! And Time IS Money if the end users are not able to use their computers because of M$’s very bad QA/QC. M$ should be at the very least froced to sell directly to comnsumers the LTSB version of windows 10 or even that Extended Windows 7 security support until 2023 that M$ is offering to its Volume Licensing customers.
M$ needs to be forced to sell single user Enterprise Licenses at its retail outlets for customers that need stability more than any M$ new and shiny that always breaks things.
Business PCs/Laptops that come with Windows 10 Pro should actually come with Windows 10 LTSB or The Windows 10 Enterprise Option. Because windows 10 Pro is not for professionals as professionals need stability more than any new and shiny or any Bloatware/Crapware candy crush of bloat. Professional users need the option of blocking updates longer term and sometimes forever if any forced updates clashes with the profesional user’s necessary application software.
It’s time for the proper Government Regulation of the entire technology sector because everything is done via technology. So OS makers are public utlilities as far as I am concerned and if the OS Breaks/OS Breaks any application software then productivity is lost and lost big time. Think about the disruptions when the power goes out, or the water pressure goes to zero and the economic disruptions to businesses/individuals that can happen when any necessary utility services are disrupted and PC/Laptop OSs are a necessary utility or the conputer is mostly useless for getting any productive work done.
I still can’t get Win 10 1803
I still can’t get Win 10 1803 build to install, it keeps failing with an unknown error. So on the one hand I don’t have to experience these sort of issues with 1809, but instead get to battle away getting 1803 working.
