AMD announced today a price drop for most of its Ryzen processor lineup, making the company's multi-core-focused parts even more competitive to Intel in terms of cost-to-performance. While not every Ryzen and Threadripper processor is seeing a price reduction, many parts are being reduced by up to 30 percent.

Note also in the price chart the new "G" series Ryzen APUs with integrated Radeon Vega graphics. Check pcper.com for more info on this new part.
Some of the new prices are already reflected, and in some cases reduced further, at retailers like Amazon.
To determine the new prices, AMD performed comparative price testing with its online retail partners last quarter, and determined that these new prices were the best balance between performance and value.
With second generation Ryzen processors not scheduled to launch until later this spring, the price drop not only helps AMD move existing inventory, it also keeps the company at the top of enthusiasts' minds in the midst of the fallout around the recent processor security issues, one of which primarily affects Intel processors.

I believe it has to be, the CPUs with the smallest market share on UserBenchmark has the highest discount. I bet they are trying to 1. clear units before the new CPUS launch and 2. Undercut Intels while this intel security issue is all over the news.
Threadripper 1900X 8/16 at
Threadripper 1900X 8/16 at $549 is now down to $449 and -18.2% is a nice option to start when the X399 boards start to get down in cost also. I like those 64 PCIe 3.0 lanes and 4 memory channels on X399 and now it’s getting more affordable to go with AMD’s HEDT platform.
Even though AMD may not be lowering the prices on the 1950X or 1920X, that has not stopped any retailers from offerng these SKUs at lower pricing as AMD in not legally allowed to set any Retailer Pricing. AMD can only set its wholesale pricing and retailers are free to let the market demand set pricing. The TR 1900X is now under by a C-Note its release date MSRP pricing and the X399 motherboard offerings for smaller form factor cases are now starting to appear so the home system builder market is going to be the best it has been in 2018 with AMD’s next generation incomimg and all things First Generation Zen/Ryzen-AM4/Threadripper-X399 are getting priced to move and make way for the new.
Let the Homer Drooling begin, and don’t forget to stay hydrated from all that excess Droolling but those Retailers deals are going to get better and better with each passing month in 2018. The only things bad currently do not affect AMD’s CPUs as much and things that do like the DRAM/NAND markets that has still not fixed the supply to demand issues is a big bummer for all makes of devices.

2200G for $99 is a great
2200G for $99 is a great deal. I’d love to see AMD making a 2300G (still 4c/4t) with Vega 11 for about $115 though, that would make it the best apu for low budget gaming.
