Fuck yeah, I give you guys a
Fuck yeah, I give you guys a lot of shit cause y’all some seriously low-energy, myopic, poor minded mother fuckers sometime but we do love your shows and site, you guys are the best. That’s not saying much as most of this industry is filled with fucking idiots, but yeah, I said it, you’re the best in the business.
….thanks?
….thanks?
Fuxk yeah thanks, and Ryan,
Fuxk yeah thanks, and Ryan, you’re honestly the best in the business. Honestly. They test of your team needs to stop thinking so damn poor (cost is only a small factor in determining VALUE), and stop being so paranoid (oh nooooo windows is data mining!!! End of the world of #freakout), and stop being so god damned focused on specifics (seriously they need to step the fuck back sometimes, rarely is a product or service simply about “the specs”). Anyway, I praise almost no one after 20+ years in this industry that is filled with so many people who think they’re smart but are actually retarded af. So fuck yeah, “Thanks”. Hey how’s your portfolio doing? I just sold so much in ready to retire. Glad I dumped all that soon to be toxic af AMD before Zen comes out and fails so hard to prove any real reason to go with their JANKY Chipset. And Vega fails as hard to compete with Nvidia.
What do you mean by janky
What do you mean by janky chipset? I haven’t noticed anything really wrong with AMD’s chipsets, aside from the older ones missing some newer features but that’s inevitable. In fact, AMD has been more generous with chipsets than Intel, for example, 990FX is still usable today even though it’s limited to PCIe 2.0 because it has 40 lanes, which Intel doesn’t offer on their mainstream platform at all.
If Microsoft openly states that they collect and sell the content of private files and emails, then it’s not really paranoia anymore to point that out, or to suggest that perhaps this is not the right direction to go.
If you’re going to try to convince people that you’ve been in this industry for 20 years, writing like a 14 year old isn’t helping you.

Hi guys i’m a fan from Algéria
Speaking of best show most of tech podcast read news from random tech website news.
Correct me if i’m wrong but PcPer are the only one who do a whole podcast about there own content (pcper.com)
and they add a lot of constructive thoughts
i feel a bit insulted when a podcast is all about reading trending news with no added value
Keep up the good work and your “Storage guy” is a gold mine when it come to storage this guys is really meticulous and precise
Sorry for bad English
P.S: love josh too when it come to chip architecture and of course his dirty dirty nasty joke 😉

This podcast is too short. To
This podcast is too short. To make up for last week I’d expected at least three hours of hilarity. ;-P
I Went and took a look at
I Went and took a look at that new M$ AiO, and M$ is has that last generation GPU(Apple style) thing going on as the display device it was running a GTX 980M as the discrete GPU choice. So On top of a very overpriced SKU there was that last generation’s graphics options! M$ Must have gotten some loss leader pricing for the Maxwell Graphics in that “New” AiO “Desktop” SKU.
At least Apple has updated its top end Macbook SKUs with Polaris based graphics options, and I’m waiting for Apple to maybe next year start offering in its bottom end Macbook pros with some AMD Zen/Polaris APU options, so the lower end Macbook Pros can have the better than Intel’s graphics using AMD’s Polaris/newer based graphics. I think that AMD has a good chance of getting a Macbook APU with Zen/Polaris and HBM2 towards the end of 2017.
Apple could have been really innovative and made an external TB3 PCIe dock(For GPUs) with the Macbook SKUs that support TB3, and the 15 inch Macbooks come with Dual TB3 Alpine Ridge TB3 controllers. so that’s 2 40Gbs Alpine Ridge controller chips for a total of 80Gbs of available bandwidth(?). I do not Know if TB3 supports link aggregation but apparently each Alpine Ridge TB3 controller supports a DP 1.2 signal(over TB3’s) and those DP 1.2(One per TB3 controller) channels can be link aggregated to drive a 5k DP display.
TB3 is a bit confusing as it uses USB-IF’s USB Type-C port form factor and electrical standard but there is not enough information on Apple’s choice of cabling options using the Type-C standard to tell if the Apple’s TB3/Type-C cables are offering Native DP wires via the USB Type-C’s display port extension(Type-C with DP support) or Apple is using DP 1.2 over the TB3(Tunneling Protocol) via the new TB3 over the USB Type-C extension. So there has not been enough information to get to just what full bandwidth or native(Not TB3 tunneling protocol) the USB Type-C Ports on the new macbooks can handle.
The USB Type-C electrical standard is one thing that is not hard to understand, but it’s the USB Type-C Extended standards that concern native DP(Type-C Alt Mode), HDMI(Type-C Alt Mode), as well as TB3’s using the Type-C form factor plug and Electrical standard. It’s the other Protocol standards that are now using the USB Type-C Plug form factor and electrical standard that is causing so much confusion. That and TB3’s extra features that are now making use of USB-IF’s Type-C plug form factor and electrical standard.
It would be much easier if Apple and other PC/Laptop makers that are using TB3/DP/HDMI over USB-IF’s Type-C plug form factor and electrical standard would just provide a set of technical manuals to go along with their user manuals that had the Full USB Type-C port’s electrical and data communication Full Pin-Out so users could see exactly is run through from the port over native wiring(DP, HDMI, ETC.) or what protocols are being tunneled through TB3’s tunneling protocol(PCIe for sure is Tunneled over TB3).
The other thing I like about TB3 is that if a ueser does not want to use the pricy active TB3 cables they can get passive lower cost TB3 cables but only get 20Gbs of TB bandwidth instead of TB3’s Full 40Gbs.

hi, josh’s quickpick for this
hi, josh’s quickpick for this week, a shellshocker monitor, Whats the brand and model? The hyperlink doesnt go to the correct URL. It may go on sale on black friday and it’s always good to know a good monitor that goes on sale often.

True, it seems to be a direct link to the Shell Shocker of the day somehow. Guess it is gone, sorry.
