The first non-reference GTX 1080 has been revealed courtesy of Galax, and the images (via VideoCardz.com) look a lot different than the Founder's Edition.

The Galax is the first custom implementation of the GTX 1080 we've seen, and as such the first example of a $599 variant of the GTX 1080. The Founder's Edition cards carry a $100 premium (and offer that really nice industrial design) but ultimately it's about performance and the Galax card will presumably offer completely stock specifications.

Expect to see a deluge of aftermarket cooling from EVGA, ASUS, MSI, and others soon enough – most of which will presumably be using a dual or triple-fan cooler, and not a simple blower like this.
Clown on the box. How ironic.

PayDay 2? Not to mention
PayDay 2? Not to mention PayDay 3 was rumored to be releasing this year? NOW WHO LOOKS LIKE THE CLOWN muahahaha.
It’s definitely you.

Going to be interesting if
Going to be interesting if any of the models below Founder Edition perform worse.
EVGA already has GTX 1080

However, specs are still limited. Still hard to tell if it’s all that better than the GTX 980Ti SC. Matching at the same price tag… newer could be better?
Well a thinner profile than
Well a thinner profile than those over the top stealth geometry shapes on some of the other SKUs. Enough with that unnecessary vanity of the 18 wheeler running lights on Jethro’s little pickup truck mentality out there! How does it perform?
Is that the best cooling solution? Other questions also! how does it game, and does it cost any less!
I seriously hope cards like
I seriously hope cards like this Galax hit the market at exactly $599. I fear pumped-up retail prices if demand is high – and I think demand will be high. Those Founders cards probably won't be $699 outside of NVIDIA's site…but that's just conjecture. If they all sell for exact MSRP expect out of stock status for a while.
At least this one is all
At least this one is all blacked out, chrome on a bat-mobile just looks tacky.
I’ll wait for MSI.

This card looks like the same
This card looks like the same cooler in a different colour scheme to the Galax 980 I currently have in my system. That board is a reference design so I expect the same with this one.
The box art screams “Don’t
The box art screams “Don’t buy me STUPID CLOWN”.
The card screams “-$100 cheapness”.
Honestly i like it, it’s most
Honestly i like it, it’s most likely reference board with a cheap cooler on it in order to get into the hands of a watercooler who will just rip the shroud/cooler off and throw it in a loop. If it is indeed at 599$ i can see a lot of people grabbing this for their loop, specifically if others (ie evga, msi, etc) come in above 599 for their “custom” coolers.
Ha! I build my first fully
Ha! I build my first fully watercooled rig this year, and was just thinking exactly that- it’s will not hurt at all to pull that off and waterblock it…
