The new version (5.2.1) of Sapphire's TriXX overclocking utility has been released, and it finally unlocks voltage and HBM overclocking for AMD's R9 Fury X.

Previously the voltage of the R9 Fury X core was not adjustable, leaving what would seem to be quite a bit of untapped headroom for the cards which shipped with a powerful liquid-cooling solution rated for 500 watts of thermal dissipation. This should allow for much better results than what Ryan was able to achieve when he attempted overclocking for our review of the R9 Fury X in June (without the benefit of voltage adjustments):
"My net result: a clock speed of 1155 MHz rather than 1050 MHz, an increase of 10%. That's a decent overclock for a first attempt with a brand new card and new architecture, but from the way that AMD had built up the "500 watt cooler" and the "375 watts available power" from the dual 8-pin power connectors, I was honestly expecting quite a bit more. Hopefully we'll see some community adjustments, like voltage modifications, that we can mess around with later…"

Will TriXX v5.2.1 unleash the full potential of the Fury X? We will have to wait for some overclocked benchmark numbers, but having the ability can only be a good thing for enthusiasts.
Combine this with a $50-100
Combine this with a $50-100 price drop and it could really shake up the market.
Nvidia has margins of 50% and
Nvidia has margins of 50% and AMD 25%. In a price war, only AMD loses. They would be stupid to drop prices. Better sell less for profits than even less for no profits. because if they drop prices Nvidia will respond the same second. We need an AMD that stays alive. Not a dead AMD.

Either way about time, and if they did add a small price drop like mentioned by “Anonymous”, it would definitely entice more people of getting one.
Wonder if they fixed an issue
Wonder if they fixed an issue where voltage offset reverts to the BIOS default after resuming from S3 sleep. I am running an older version of TriXX to tweak my R9 290 Tri-X and every time I wake from S3, the overclock and power limit settings are retained, but the voltage offset must be re-applied (eg. 1100 core/1500 mem/+31mV offset silently switches to 1100/1500/+25).
I didn’t realize this at first because the GUI displays the modified voltage setting until you click on any part of the TriXX window. At this point the displayed voltage setting ‘refreshes’ to show the BIOS default which is what has actually been applied. Hopefully this does not affect Fury products as well since it can cause some hard to diagnose stability problems for those who use sleep functionality.
