The new Ubuntu powered Aquaris E4.5 and the Aquaris E5 HD are now available but thanks to North America's carriers not supporting HPSA+ properly, or in many cases at all, the best you could hope for on this side of the pond is a 2G connection. They chips inside the phones are quad-core ARM Cortex A7's running at 1.3GHz with Mali 400 graphics. The E5 has a 5" screen with a resolutions of 720 x 1280, the 4.5 is 4.5" in size with a 540 x 960 resolution. Overall the specs are not awe inspiring and the prices of roughly $190 and $220 seem a bit high but are certainly lower than what you would pay for a new Samsung or Apple product without a contract. Ah North America, that’s monopoly territory, we wouldn’t want consumers there to have a choice, no not in the land of Democracy! Those big OS interests with their need to keep the Eyeballs captive, and looking through as many ads as possible while the users are online with their mobile devices. Lets keep that OS choice to a minimum and those big political donations coming least democracy get in the way of those fat juicy profits. And even some of the PC/Laptop OS trusts getting into the captive Eyeballs game, and that goes along with the selling of user metrics!
Better watch out for those new OEM PC’s/Laptop’s secure boot OFF switches that may be disappearing from UEFIs/BIOSs in the land of milk and honey, and binding those Eyeballs with blinders that only allow the big PC/Laptop OS monopoly’s software to run! That key signing authority in that hands of the big PC/Laptop OS Trust and a history of dragging its feet with those Keys.

Yes, but that can be stripped
Yes, but that can be stripped out, not so for the Android, and Win 10 inmates. I would personaly like a Mint based Tablet, or a Steam OS based tablet! I’m happy enough with my dumb flip-Phone.
It’s pretty easy to block ads
It’s pretty easy to block ads on Android. Your options get even better if you decide to root the device. iOS requires a bit more work, but it’s much the same there too.
I don’t know the story for Windows devices. Maybe don’t use one of those.
