In our defense this was originally filmed for our 2013 staff retreat to the Galapagos Islands. Come to think of it, I actually can't remember any of that trip…
I've found that I get the best performance when the all the pins have an airtight connection. After burn-in I can't even get the CPU out anymore… Oh well, small price to pay for the gains I'm experiencing.
Of course they can, and they Of course they can, and they do… ALL THE TIME.
But it’s almost “Black Friday” with Winter Holiday Shopping coming up soon. So there’s going to be a huge spike in traffic of people trying to figure this stuff out who *don’t* watch multiple podcasts or follow every post these guys put up.
It’s the dark art of trying to attract new people to the site vs boring the regulars…
I’m sure there will be plenty of reviews about welders, er 1200W PSUs & R9 290X competitors too!
Why are we talking about Why are we talking about 1200W sup’s when I’m runnin’ dub 2000’s wit pin mods on the black & green 24p!!!!!!! Black & Green …. Black & Green…. Black & Green…..
if you turned the intel chip if you turned the intel chip around, would it be possible to fit at least one stick of ram(if not two sticks at the same time) into the other “chip” slot?
Good thinking, but Good thinking, but unfortunately the intel chip is keyed so it only goes in one way. He could plug it into the internal port instead however, and then have room in the outer slot for a stick of ram. Or perhaps like you posited, maybe even two, if he’s careful.
That’s an amazing idea! At That’s an amazing idea! At first, I admit I wasn’t concerned about memory because I planned on using a 74GB hard drive – way more memory that I’d ever need! But now I’m convinced that choice is the only reason this system isn’t working yet. I’ll try the memory stacked in the first additional processor slot immediately.
Hello there, You’ve done an Hello there, You’ve done an excellent job. I’ll definitely digg it and personally suggest to my friends.

Amazon offers me to buy those Amazon offers me to buy those components used.
Is that better? It seems like it should be better because of all the electricity the previous user has already put into it.
Come on, guys, this is not Come on, guys, this is not what I expect from PCPer.
I was looking forward to a comparative benchmark that pits all the best CPUs from bottom to top price and compares their performance with flagship GPUs: G3258, 8320, 8350, 4670K, 4690K, 4770K, 4790K, 5820K, 5930K, 5960X. So we can see the relative performance with 1/2/3/4 flagship GPUs (290X / 980).
THAT would have been an awesome article/video. And I’m still expecting you guys do an article like this.

Really? They have the old CPU Really? They have the old CPU on sale at Amazon from Intel for $20 each?
I had a 10 or so of them. I decided to give them away to some local hobbyist for free (few months ago) instead of dropping them off at some recycling pickup depot (if they do actually recycle them instead of dropping them in our landfills, who knows).
I could have made at least $40 😛 The guy was happy because I had more old equipment (some were too expensive to buy replacement parts) than just those CPU.
You fool! You could have had a 10 CPU system, just use jumper cables to link several boards together if you don't have enough extra slots to stick them in!
