SilverStone’s Strider Titanium Series is designed for PC enthusiasts who are looking for a very high efficiency power supply, meeting the top-tier 80 Plus Titanium certification. Starting at 600W and going up to 1500W, the Strider Titanium Series includes six different models. The three lower output models (600W, 700W, and 800W) feature a compact chassis measuring only 150mm deep, while the three high output models (1100W, 1300W and 1500W) forgo the small enclosure and step up to a larger chassis, which measures 180mm deep. Another minor difference is the three lower output models use a 120mm fan while the three higher output models use a 140mm cooling fan.

All of the SilverStone Strider Titanium power supplies incorporate semi-fanless operation (up to 20% load) and come with fully modular cables. Each power supply is built using all Japanese made capacitors and is rated for 24/7 continuous operation at up to 50°C ambient temperature. In this review, we will be taking a detailed look at the Strider Titanium Series ST1300-TI power supply.

Here is what SilverStone has to say about the high efficiency Strider Titanium Series PSUs: “The 80 PLUS Titanium certification represents the pinnacle of power supply efficiency with requirement of at least 90% conversion efficiency even at the very low 10% loading condition.

For SilverStone, achieving the highest efficiency is just one aspect to what makes for a technically advanced power supply. The available power also needs to be condensed into a physical package as small as possible so that users can freely utilize it in any case or system with minimal interference. For the Strider Titanium series power supplies, all models are among the smallest in size for their wattage levels.

As befitting of being in the Strider series, abundant enthusiasts features are included such as all Japanese capacitors, ±3% regulation, powerful single +12V rail, 24/7 continuous power output at 50°, and dual EPS 8pin with multiple PCI-E 8 / 6pin connectors support. For those looking to build the most efficient systems possible with multiple GPUs for gaming, folding, mining, scientific calculations, or machine learning, the 1100W / 1300W / 1500W Strider Titanium series power supplies are definitely the top choices.

The Strider Platinum Series is one of SilverStone’s most complete and popular lines of power supplies with PC enthusiasts. Starting at 550W and going up to 1200W, the Strider Platinum Series includes six different models. The four 550W thru 850W models feature a compact chassis measuring only 140mm deep. The two high output models (1000W and 1200W) forgo the small enclosure and step up to a larger chassis and 140mm fan.

All of the SilverStone Strider Platinum power supplies come with 80 Plus Platinum certification for high efficiency and fully modular cables. Earlier this year, we took a look at two of the compact chassis units (ST55F-PT and ST85F-PT) and found them to be very capable power supplies. In this review, we will be taking a detailed look at the Strider Platinum Series ST1000-PT.

Introduction and Features

Introduction

Back by popular demand – today we are taking a detailed look at SilverStone’s new Strider Platinum Series 550W power supply. Not everyone needs or wants a high-capacity power supply and it is nice to see a medium range 550W unit with 80 Plus Platinum efficiency certification. Last month we looked at the Strider Platinum 850W unit and found it to be a very good power supply. In this review we are going to see if the 550W unit can live up to the expectations set by its big brother (tight voltage regulation, low AC ripple, high efficiency and quiet operation).

The Strider Platinum Series currently includes four compact models: the ST55F-PT (550W), ST65F-PT (650W), ST75F-PT (750W) and ST85F-PT (850W), which SilverStone claims are the smallest fully modular ATX power supplies with 80 Plus Platinum efficiency on the market. The chassis measures 140mm (5.5”) deep.

All of the Strider Platinum Series PSUs are designed to provide quiet, reliable operation. The 120mm cooling fan incorporates a Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) and an intelligent fan control permits fanless operation at low power. The overall performance is optimized with tight voltage regulation and low AC ripple on the DC outputs. And the unit comes backed by a 5-year warranty.

Here is what SilverStone has to say about the new Strider Platinum Series PSUs:  "As desktop computers continue to advance toward ever more efficient and smaller designs, SilverStone is helping to drive the efficiency movement by releasing the Strider Platinum Series of power supplies. Created to be the smallest fully modular ATX power supplies with 80 Plus Platinum efficiency, they are also incredibly quiet with the ability to run in fanless mode. If the loading condition is below 20%, the fan in the power supply can remain off for silent operation during idle or low powered computing activities. Other great features inherited from previous Strider series includes ±3% regulation, powerful single +12V rail, 24/7 continuous power output, and multiple PCI-E cables. For those looking to build highly efficient systems in small footprints, the Strider Platinum is definitely the best choice.

SilverStone Technology Inc. continues to focus attention on providing compact power supply solutions. Earlier this year we looked at the SilverStone SX700-LPT, which packed 700 watts into an extended SFX chassis. In this review we are going to check out SilverStone’s ST85F-PT, which packs 850W into a compact ATX enclosure. While the typical 850W ATX power supply measures 180mm (7.1”) deep, the Strider Platinum Series 850W unit is housed in a 140mm chassis (5.5”). This results in a power density of 471W per liter.
