NVIDIA sent over a list of their current deals, which are somewhat related to the coming weekend; apart from many being available already.   The US deals are significantly better than the Canadian ones, but even so there are a few good ones.

NVIDA broke them up into categories to make it a bit easier to find the product you are looking for so take a scroll and see if there is something your machine could use installed, or if it is time to replace it altogether.

Buy an EVGA GeForce GTX 10 Series - Get EVGA PowerLink FREE

Subject: General Tech | October 4, 2016 - 05:45 PM |
Tagged: powerlink, pascal, evga, deals

EVGA sent along a newsletter which is worth mentioning as there are a few good deals to be had, even if you have already picked up one of their cards.  Anyone who recently bought a Pascal based EVGA card or is planning to in the near future can get up to four EVGA Powerlink cable management ... thingies.  It is for your PCIe power connectors and wraps around your GPU, allowing you to power your card without exposing those wires and connectors, great for modders or those who prefer a clean looking build.  You do need to create an EVGA account and register your card, do keep that in mind.

The PCIe power connectors on the Powerlink are adjustable, no matter which card you purchased you will be able to use the adapter.  There are capacitors inside which are intended to help ensure smooth power delivery, so this not simply an extenstion cord.  They also have some deals on previous generation NVIDIA cards as well as their TORQ mouse.

There is also a rather unique deal for those who game on the go as well as at home. As it says below, every purchase of an EVGA SC17 980m laptop (758-21-2633-T1) comes with a free GTX 1070 FTW as long as supplies last.

Quick Deal (Canada): 480GB Intel 730 SSD for $259.99 CDN

Subject: General Tech, Storage | December 28, 2014 - 01:18 AM |
Tagged: Intel, ssd, ncix, directcanada, deals

A couple of Canadian stores, NCIX and DirectCanada, have marked down the Intel 730 SSD in both 240GB and 480GB models. While sites like Amazon and Newegg are selling it for $530 and $547, respectively, NCIX has the 480GB version on for $259.99 and the 240GB version for $169.99. DirectCanada is close, their price is about $10 more expensive for the 480GB and a few cents cheaper for the 240GB (480GB - $269.89 and 240GB - $169.95). This is even cheaper than the American Amazon price, which is going for $456.99 USD.

intel-ssd-730-front.JPG

You can see in Allyn's review from February, he really liked the drive. He notes that it is a bit hot and power hungry, but he also notes that the controller is overclocked and that is probably why you want to buy it. If you are Canadian, or are somehow able to make a purchase in Canada, this is a ridiculous price. For everyone else, who knows? It might be a sign that its price could drop altogether. Either that, or NCIX and DirectCanada just feel like throwing money around today.

Another 4K Monitor Option: Samsung U28D590D 28-in Display for $699

Ever since CES we have been expecting an onslaught of 4K monitors to make their way to the market. Today Amazon.com listed the Samsung U28D590D for pre-order for the price of just $699. This is a 28-in display with a 3840x2160 resolution and support for 60 Hz refresh rates courtesy of the DisplayPort 1.2 connection.

samsung4k1.jpg

That's a hell of a deal for a 4K monitor, especially one capable of 60 Hz (likely through MST)! Worth noting is that the monitor is a TN panel so picture quality won't be as good as the IPS options still selling for over $2500, like the ASUS PQ321Q we reviewed previously.

samsung4k2.jpg

The panel has a pair of HDMI inputs but both are listed as only supporting 30 Hz 3840x2160 resolutions without any mention of using them both simultaneously.

You can find the full specifications list on Samsung's website, and we are working to get a sample in for testing in the next two weeks!

Dell U2414H UltraSharp 24" 1080p IPS Monitor @ $262.49 with Free Shipping

Dell's U2414H has something special for multi-monitor users, a bezel that is a mere 6.05mm thick!  At 1080p it isn't as impressive as the UP2414Q but also won't break your bank account or require at least two GPUs to power it.  It is an IPS display so the rated 8ms g2g response rate is believable and should fit your gaming needs quite adequately.
