Instead of getting all excited about a wafer at the Intel booth, look at this picture from the Sharp display.  According to MAKE:Blog, monitors are made in a similar fashion to CPUs, with a substrate of panels all coated at the same time and then separated after.  A two by four substrate of eight 57" displays is really impressive to see.

While the 8800 GT has been widely lauded for being an amazingly fast product for a very attractive price, complaints about the heat it creates as well as how loud the fan can spool up has spawned a 3rd party cooling market to address those needs.  EVGA is now showing a dual slot cooling solution on the 8800 GT that should address this burgeoning market.  They also up the core clock on the 8800 GT to a nice and even 700+ MHz to boot.

If CES has you going into gadget overload, with too many new things to see, the melange of PC and other electronics too much for you?  Follow Think Computers over to the Digital Experience, an event that occurred Sunday, in the humble little venue called Caesar's Palace.  The displays there are smaller and sparser, as the event focuses solely on the PC world.  You can see Lenovo's new IdeaPad F11, some snazzy systems from Alienware as well as speakers, monitors , mice and more.

After stopping by the EVGA booth today, I came away very impressed with how the company is choosing to innovate rather than duplicate.

Intel is showing off their Skulltrail setups in both air cooled and water cooled configurations.  The big news is that these systems are shown running at 4 GHz.  Too bad Ryan didn't bring along his Kill-a-watt to see how much power they were sucking up.

Yes Virginia... there is a 1337 Case Modder.  Would you like some rhinestones with that?

The next stop along Ryan's tortuous way through CES brought him to AMD's doorstep.  He was able to snap off some pics though he was still reeling from the rowdy evening at "Little Budda's" filled with alcohol and sushi.

Here are a few MXM modules sporting the latest Radeon mobile parts.

Our own intrepid Ryan is braving the wilds of Las Vegas to get the latest and greatest news from CES.  He had the chance to stop by and chat with the nice Thermaltake folks, and he was able to send a few snapshots of what he has found.

Here we have some new SATA hot swappable docking stations.  It is nice as it handles both 2.5 and 3.5 inch drives.

Day 2 of CES 2008 has started off, and some sites are catching up on yesterdays news, while others are already trying to get the new finds from today up and published.  Legit Reviews started off their Tuesday at Foxconn's table looking at an extended ATX motherboard with the codename F1 or Transformer.   The most arresting feature of this board is the four ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT all hooked up in Crossfire, and thanks to the larger form factor, the cards are spaced apart nicely.  Take a look!

Over at the ASUS table you can see a scratch 20" proof monitor, apparently Ryan talked them into hitting it with a storage box several times, and it suffered no ill effect.  There is also an pre-built HTPC with a built in amplifier as well as a shot of the digital Xonar D2X.
