AMD is back in the bay area with another free event; from 5:30-7:30pm on September 23rd, at the St.Regis Hotel in the Vitrine Restaurant.  Of you are in the area, drop by this website for registration details and hang out with Ryan and AMD tomorrow.

Come join AMD Social Media mavens and some of our cooler executives for an informal and entertaining meet-up/tweet-up at the St. Regis Hotel.

Of course, it wouldn't be a fun meetup without complimentary cocktails and appetizers. Come down, hang out, have a beverage and geek out on the next generation of gadgets and technology that AMD has been cooking up.

We will have some signed copies of Chris Brogan and Julien Smith's New York TImes Best Selling book "Trust Agents" as well.

The first event on the main stage was our PC Perspective Hardware Workshop where Ryan and most of our staff held a overclocking exhibition with AMD, DirectX 11 preview, Quakecon 2009 case mod contest finalists, and NVIDIA's 3D Vision demonstration.

As the more astute of you know, PC Perspective is going to be a part of Quakecon this year.  Judging case mod contests is just a part of it, as is figuring a way to rig the contest so that one of our members can drive home in the new Shelby GT.  There will also be a both with tons of t-shirts and prizes to be won.  Enough prizes that Ryan has had to resort to extreme measures to get them all there.

The Tech Report have been posting Computex updates like mad and still are having a hard time keeping up due to the huge volume of information from this years expo.   Lynnfield processors and the P55 boards they will run on were showing next to nVIDIA's Tegra processor and Ion platform.  Various PSU makers were showing off their 80+ lineups, including this very impressive beast.  There were some interesting new tricks with notebooks and the motherboard makers were showing off too

There is a lot more to see there but don't tire your eyes out as Ryan has a newly minted article on his travels at Computex as well.

"We have even more Computex news and photo galleries from the latter part of the show. Join us for the latest official and unofficial news about Intel's next quad-core processors, Tegra and Ion systems from Nvidia, ultra- efficient power supplies from Seasonic and Enermax, next-gen netbook touchpads, AMD processor core unlocking from Gigabyte, and much more."

DigiTimes saw a lot of vendors as they toured Computex this year, but the main thing they noticed was the focus on portability.  Most of the first part of their look at this trade show is taken up
by mobility products along with some interesting entertainment devices from MSI.  The second part features the huge V10 cooler from CoolerMaster and even more mobility products.  The digital picture frame with built in scanner is
