I am sure many of you remember the trouble that Abit found itself in financially when they came under investigation by the Taiwan version of the SEC, but now things seem to be looking up for the motherboard manufacturer.  A new investor in the form of the CEO of the largest transportation group in Taiwan, has put in enough of of his own money to become a majority share holder.  Now, I don't know what affect this is going to have on the company in general, their product lines or anything, but we'll be meeting with them extensivel

The guys at PC Stats have reviewed the new MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum motherboard. 

MSI's new K8N Neo4 Platinum motherboard is based around the nForce4-Ultra chipset, this board can use any Socket 939 Athlon64/FX processor and can be stuffed with up to 4GB of PC3200 DDR RAM.

A quick once over of this board shot shows some interesting stuff, like the external, rear SATA channel by the audio output connectors.  The passive heastsink on the north bridge is pretty dang big, as is probably needed for the heat the NVIDIA NF4 Intel chipse

HardOCP has reviewed the Fatal1ty AN8 motherboard, based on the NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra (AMD Edition) chipset.  Have a gander at what they have to say, and if you need a comparison, you can look at my review as well.

However, the lack of integrated peripherals on the board itself was disappointing.
