Ryan's new favourite laptop is the ASUS U6S 12.1" Ultra-mobile Notebook, that offers some well thought out styling as well as great performance. With the screen limited to 12" and graphics begin powered by a GeForce 8400M, you won't be doing much gaming, nor will the battery last as long as you might hope. On the other hand, at 4lbs and perfectly capable of playing movies, this is a great laptop if you are on the go.

It looks like someone snuck into the show floor at CeBit and snagged some photos from the ASUS booth a bit early. First up, ASUS is pushing the Eee PC brand with a host of new accessories including a VoIP phone (but not the Skype phone we looked at previously), an 802.11g wireless access point, HSDPA card and slim external DVD-RW drive.
Introduction and Specifications
The ASUS U6S is an ultra-mobile machine that offers us a slim, low-weight design with an Intel Core 2 processor and Windows Vista Business. But can it also bring a battery life to make it an all-day notebook?

The Dell XPS M1730 is just over 10lbs of serious power. It has a 17" 1920x1200 LCD, SLI, PhysX, it can handle RAID 0 or 1 as well as up to 4Gb of DDR2 800. All in all it is serious competition for the Alienware m9750 that Ryan tested recently. Check out the current pinnacle of laptop performance at AnandTech.
Pulling it out of the box
The Asus U2E ultra-mobile notebook has gotten a lot of attention since it was first shown last year. With an 11" screen, optional solid state drive, integrated optical drive, LED back lit screen and all under 3 lbs!

When Phoronix spends a day in the snow sledding on the Otterbox 7030, and the ThinkPad R52 that was inside it, and the thing still works in the evening, you know they've got a good product. Head on over to watch the videos of this protective case in action, and some of you can marvel at the ground being covered in the white stuff.

Lenovo's T-Series ThinkPads have arrived at Think Computers. The widescreen T61p is 1.1-inches thick, weighs only 5lbs and comes in both 14.1" and 15.4". Apart from the screen size, the two biggest differences are that the 15.4" model comes with a C2D T7700
and Nvidia Quadro FX 570, while the 14.1 has a C2D T7300 and Nvidia Quadro NVS 140M. Check out the full review for more.
Introduction and Specifications
Alienware has made a name for itself by building high-end gaming PCs for years now. They are not new to the mobile market either and their products are aimed at someone that loves to game, but needs to take that power with them. Enter the m9750 notebook!

With a C2D T7500 at 2.2GHz and 2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz, the ASUS U6S packs a fair amount of power into a 3.46lb package. One drawback to putting that much power into an ultra portable is battery life. About 2.5 hours really isn't that impressive a time for this type of machine, but those looking for a little extra power while the battery lasts may not mind at all.
Electric Bill's Mobile Desktop!
How many times have you been somewhere and thought, "Sure would be nice if I had my desktop here".Yeah I know, laptops can do most of the things that desktops can do but the tiny keyboard and touch pad just don't do it for me not to mention that trying to use one for vehicle navigation can get pretty exciting when you hit the brakes or make a quick turn and your $1500 laptop obeys Newton's 1st law of motion.
