Blu-Ray for the Driveless

During CES 2010 back in January, Lenovo made some big waves by revealing the IdeaPad U1 Hybrid notebook. The 11.6" notebook not only sported an Intel Core 2 processor and 10 hours of battery life (the specs were revealed to PC Perspective) , the screen also detached to become a 11" slate PC with an independent OS.

The ever stylish Sony VAOI series has a new model, the Z117. The reviewer at t-break just switched back to a mobile Windows machine from a MacBook, so when he describes the exterior as preferable to a Mac and the weight as surprisingly light you know that he has a good comparison. It is no lightweight inside, this is a midrange model and has a Core i5-520 CPU @ 2.4GHz, 4GB DDR3-1066 RAM and a 128GB SSD running in RAID-0. The graphics are a little stranger, the 13″ screen has a resolution of 1600x900 and is powered by either an nVIDIA GT330 with 1GB RAM or onboard Intel

If there are two things you can take away from NVIDIA's newest GeForce GTX470 and GTX480 cards is that they are hot and fast (read our review here). Now imagine stuffing one of those GF100 chips into a notebook! That's exactly what will be happening this June when mobile GF100 chips begin shipping from OEM notebook manufacturer Clevo. According to Daily Tech the GTX 480M has been trimmed to ensure it fits within a portable system's thermal and power constraints.

We've been hearing about the Dell Streak for quite some time now, with prototypes popping up in street markets in China, to drunken photos at cocktail parties. Now Dell has finally gone official and confirmed that the 5" Android handset with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor will be launching on June 4. Engadget reports that the Streak will also be upgradable to Android 2.2 and support Flash 10.1.
