The Vantec Piano 101 laptop dock is up for review at OCMODSHOP.  It contains a fan for additional cooling, 2.1 stereo speakers and USB 2.0 ports, among other handy add-ons.  Since it only weighs 3lbs, it can actually be part of your kit on the road, although it may be a bit large to stick in your laptop bag.

Gateways new desktop replacement

The Gateway NX860XL doesn't really game well and it's battery life is nothing to brag about.  This may sound like a bad thing until you consider it in the light of a desktop replacement for work as opposed to a gaming machine.  [H]ard|OCP likes what they received from Gateway, from the product itself to the Tech Support, and call this notebook a winner.

Using fuel cell technology, Samsung was able to build a dock that could power a notebook for a full month.  Sign me up for one of these. 

Fuel cell-based notebooks are nothing new to frequent readers of DailyTech. In early June, we reported on Toshiba's early efforts with a fuel cell notebook dock that was able to power a Portege notebook for 10 hours.
