The Lenovo X100e shares many attributes with its predecessors, as with previous X series it is a small and light notebook, an 11.6" display @ 1366x768 and a weight of 1.3kg. The big difference is the chip powering the notebook, AMD has finally broken into this market with their Athlon Neo MV-40 @ 1.6 GHz. The AMD 780G chipset means there is a Radeon Mobility HD 3200 powering the graphics and sharing the 1GB of DDR2. The power of the Neo is significantly higher than the Atom, both in the power it draws, 15W as opposed to 2.5W and in performance, which is where the Neo shines i

Running out and buying an LCD monitor with a Viewsonic name on it certainly makes sense, but what about a netbook? The 13.3-inch ViewBook Pro is exactly that, with a Core2 Duo SU7300 inside along with 2GB of DDR2 and an Intel 4 Series Express onboard GPU. It comes with two batteries, which can be used together to bring the battery life under full load from 2h39m to 4h20m, fairly respectable usage. The only major problem seems to be the netbooks unavailability, not even the Viewsonic page will list a retailer or price.

Instead of an Atom processor, the MSI Wind 12 U230 netbook features an AMD Athlon Neo X2 L335 inside of it with an AMD RS-780MN chipset which means an ATI Radeon HD3200 powers the graphics. The battery life falls short of spectacular, 4h30m at idle and 3h35m of DVD playback putting it slightly ahead of the Atom as far as raw power efficiency goes. When you take a look a
