Kingston's PC2-9600 DDR2 (1200MHz) kit runs 5-5-5-15 timings at 2.3V and is just begging to be pushed farther. Big Bruin had no troubles using this RAM to push an E6850 to 400Mhz with a FSB:DRAM ratio of 5:8. Considering how cheap these modules are, if you even suspect your RAM is holding back a better overclock, you might want to invest in this kit.

You might remember recently we talked about a new company called MetaRAM, started by former AMD CTO Fred Weber, that is set on expanding the amount of memory a system can access without the dramatic price increases we are used to. Of course, "expensive" is term that depends on the one using it, but TheInq has some shots of a demo system from IDF that can support up to 288GB of memory using the MetaRAM technology on the upc

US Modular is far better known for portable storage, usually flash based, but they are moving in to the field of DDR2. The first module up for review is the 2Gb dual channel Cold Fusion DDR2-800 kit, which runs at 4-12-4-4 at 2V. The Tech Lounge was shocked to see it beating out DIMMs from Corsair and other big names, but this kit has an Achilles' Heel, it does not overclock well. The other problem is that it doesn't seem to be for sale anywhere.

Or at least a bit higher on your Vista rating. With the wonderful drop in pricing that DDR2 is going through, 4GB kits are no longer something you have to sell a body part to afford. Many kits are appearing, and today Overclockers Club reviewed Mushkin's XP2 8000 Redline 4GB kit. Along with the increase in size has come a decrease in the amount of overclocking possible, and a loosening of the timings, but the scores still remain impressive.
