XFX sent over word that they have increased the warranty coverage of their video cards; new AND old!  This warranty is retro-active and is good on all GeForce 6 and 7 series cards.

Here's the deal: We will repair and service your 6-Series or 7-Series Graphics Card for as long as you own it. All you have to do is register the card with us online. And, should you sell or transfer the card, we'll honor the warranty for the card's second owner, too, as long as they register it with us online.

Anandtech has reviewed the latest high end card from XFX, the 7800 GTX.  They look at the same 490/1.3 version that I reviewed here

That being said, here is what we recommend. If you still don't have Battlefield 2 and want to get a good 7800 GTX with BF2 bundle, then definitely go with the XFX GeForce 7800 GTX Overclocked (with BF2 bundle), which is available for about $550 right now.

Our friends at Tech Report have posted a review that looks at three different 7800 GTX cards from BFG, MSI and XFX.  Turns out the winning card has NOTHING to do with graphics!

The first thing that should be said in any roundup of GeForce 7800 GTX video cards is that these cards are all essentially the same thing. NVIDIA doesn't just design the GPU; they create a reference design for the whole card, memory and all.

Beyond 3D has posted a review of the BFG 7800 GTX card that comes default overclocked.

The BFG Tech GeForce 7800 GTX OC is clearly a great 7800 GTX solution, offering more speed than the default configuration and a lifetime warranty as well. If you are faced with the choice between a board at the reference clocks verses the BFG board and they are still at similar prices then it appears to be a no-brainer which option to go for!

Does this quote from a GlobeInvestor article point to another delay in the release of ATI's next generation GPU?

'This range has been adjusted down from the preliminary guidance announced on June 6, 2005, due to a more conservative expectation on the ramp of new products in the fourth quarter,' ATI said. The company said on a conference call that its new graphics chip, the R520, is delayed.
