Well, if you are here already you no doubt have seen the changes we made tonight to the entire PC Perspective website. The forums have had a preview of this new design for some time, but it has taken us quite a long time to work out all the bugs and kinks with the site formatting to get it where we were ready to present it to you all. Before I get into the new features and what has changed in the new PC Perspective v2.0, I'd like to take this chance to publicly and completely thank Joe White (The Wise One

I am sitting in my hotel room in downtown San Francisco ready for the upcoming spring 2005 IDF show at the Moscone Center. Intel is planning on showing off their plans for multi-core processors (notice they are NOT calling it dual-core any more...) as well as their partnership with NVIDIA in the form of the nForce4 for Intel chipset that is going to be announced very soon. I'll post more on the show as I get it, keep a close watch on the front page for any breaking news I post from the floor!

If you have been following the site at all this year, you'll have noticed that since the last day in January, my name has not been attached to any articles. My sincere thanks go to Jon and Lee for keeping some fresh content on PC Perspective. Of course, this is not to say I haven't been working at all in these past two weeks, just that it isn't "overt" work that I am doing. The grunt work that needs doing is getting done, and thanks to Joe, very soon we should have that new design I promised a couple months back. I am really looking forward to it.

While hunting around on various websites today, doing the usual product searches, I came across quite a few interesting little bits of info that I wanted to share this afternoon. First up, it would appear that I have found the first X800 PCI Express card available, from PowerColor. Listed here on our shopping page, the card is going for $389 and slightly higher. This is the fi

Speaking of participation, I almost on the verge of opening up a vote for PCP's Reader Awards of 2004. What do you all think of the idea of having forum readers vote on subjects like the best chipest and video card of 2004?
Time to start getting ready for the holidays

If you haven't read my NVIDIA PureVideo article yet, it will probably interest you if you find video image quality important at all. The new driver (publically available soon) will actually enable that video processor that exists in all the 6-series graphics cards from NVIDIA, with the exception of the WMV9 hardware decode that is still broken on the NV40 and NV45 chips.
I was interesting for me to delve into the world of high defintion DVD and all the different standards that are fighting for dominance.

I know many of you may think I should remain impartial and thus keep PC Perspective that way as well, but with the race this close, I just couldn't do that. I would like you all to read my latest weblog entry, even if you are against what it has to say. Thank you.
And no matter what, go out and vote...

No, this isn't exactly news, but I figured I would throw a link to my lastest weblog entry out to you all in case you hadn't checked it in a while (as if you did before) because I took so long to update it. :)
It has personal junk as well as work related info it, so maybe you'll find it worth your while to read...

As you might have figured from the link I posted in my last Inside Perspective, I'm spending a bit of spare time shootin' the breeze with some fellow book lovers. One of the things they do is highlight a book of the month that everyone can read "together" and comment on. So, in an effort to get in the spirit of things, I decided to tackle the book of the month (well actually in this particular case it's months) for May and June. The highlighted book this time around is War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy. Now, mind you, I knew it was big, but I had no idea just how big.
